Stephen
Ministry "Bear one another's burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ." Gal. 6:2. Stephen Ministry is grounded in Jesus' command to love one another. Through one-to-one caring relationships, those who are hurting, or who are looking for a caring, Christian friend, receive the love and care they need to support them. Everyone goes through difficult times. Having someone to care, to listen, to share God's love can help people get through the confusion, stress, or loneliness they may be experiencing. Stephen Ministers provide distinctively Christian care for a person with strict confidentiality. Stephen Ministers meet the needs of individuals who are hospitalized, bereaved, terminally ill, in a job crisis, lonely, homebound, or in a spiritual crisis. At St. Francis we are blessed with some Stephen Ministers who have received 50 hours of training each. They are eager to reach out to others. At any time, perhaps you or a friend or a relative will need pastoral care. If so, consider calling for a Stephen Minister. All you need to do is call the office, and the Stephen Minister coordinator will be contacted. The coordinator will contact you, and after a conversation will match you up with a Stephen Minister. Then the caring relationship will begin. Consider allowing a Stephen Minister to walk with you on your journey to wholeness. |
